7 springs was a great success! We had 16 gold, 10 silver, and 6 bronze medals over the two slopestyle and half pipe events! Our team made up 1/3 of the competition! We had a great representation at these events! I wanted to say a big thank you to all the athletes and parents! You all killed it!
I also wanted to recognize Jen Collins the Freeride Team rep for all of her hard work and dedication! THANK YOU JEN! You are awesome!
USASA Nationals, at Copper Mountain, CO, is coming up! Snowboard nationals are March 30th – April 5th. Ski nationals are April 6th – April 10th. If your athlete(s) placed 1st or 2nd at two or more events in the same category (two slopestyle events, two half pipe events, two boarder/skier cross events, etc.), then they are most likely either invited to nationals or are considered an alternate. If they are an alternate that means they are next in line to go to nationals if someone declines the invitation. Please contact me if you have any questions. Practice will run at our normal time and place this weekend. The following weekend is our last weekend for winter practice. We will be hosting an in house slopestyle event on that Sunday the 10th. Please think about Mount Hood and our Summer Freeride team camp. We really want to give you the opportunity to continue your skill development by spending 7 days on snow in July. We also want to have our own private park features and we will need 10 participants to make this happen. You will all be receiving an invite soon with details about the camp. Send any question you might have to Teams Director Chris Shepard. email@example.com
Thank you all and a big congrats to our athletes!!!

Here is a copy of the schedule for the races at Bryce this weekend. Sara Championship Schedule
I hope to see you there. Good luck to all racers this weekend!
What a weekend of pressure, perseverance, and powerful performances from the Wintergreen Race Team at the SARA Championships Races.
Our athletes did a wonderful job this past weekend with the pressure on. With all runs counting for points towards SARA Championship rankings the team members raced four runs of slalom on Saturday and four runs of giant slalom on Sunday. Every athlete was tested physically, mentally and emotionally. With the support of team mates and fellow racers every single athlete stepped up and performed well.
The slalom courses were long and challenging. With the top rhythm sections falling away to skiers left, mid course flushes forcing quick turns and a lower course through gate throwing the racers into a double hairpin, our racers were up to the task. Great focus and a season of training paid off; with Wintergreen race team members making the podium multiple times.
The GS courses required dynamism beyond belief. The first surface was super hard and fast. Strong edge angles paid off. As the day progressed, the snow become softer and and each run required more and more aggression. Again, tired but determined, our racers supported each other and the rest of SARA to work through the runs. Ready for anything, our racers drove through the ruts, absorbed the rollers and bumps and completed each run better that the one before.
Congratulations to all the Wintergreen athletes. Your perseverance, dedication and drive is phenomenal. But best of all your sportsmanship and support of your team mates and competitors makes us proud to be your coaches.
Thanks for a great year.

We will not expect anyone to stay for the Slalom race as we will offer practice back at Wintergreen Sunday morning and need to run the Double Cross Sunday afternoon.
