D-Team Update

We will hold our mid-season D-team race this Sunday at 10am!

Parents and spectators, be ready to cheer your child on by 9:45am, as we will start promptly at 10.  We will be racing on the upper right side of Eagle and the results will be on live-timing.  There will be no award ceremony following the race.

If you haven’t already, please make note of our final race when making spring break plans. The final race reflects all the hard work and improvement your child has put in over the course of the season and we coaches would love to see a full turn out this year.  The race will be held the weekend of March 9-10, award ceremony to follow.  Please feel free to email me with any questions or concerns: lchaldares@wintergreenresort.com

See you this weekend!

Course inspection will be from 8am-9am and the race will start at 9am. They will run the GS first and then follow that with the SL immediately after. (GS = Bigger turns S = tighter smaller turns). Can’t wait to see you all tomorrow!

Mount Hood camp update.

Because a lot of people are asking and I know some of you like to schedule things in advance, here is a brief update on our Summer camp at Mount Hood, Oregon.

  • On snow dates are Tuesday July 2nd-Monday July 8th. I have also heard that flights are relatively cheap right now to Portland OR so if you want to book your flight go ahead and do so. Remember that flight dates are Monday July 1st (and your flight must arrive in Portland before 2pm in the afternoon if you plan on using the included transportation to Mount Hood) and Tuesday July 9th (your flight must depart after 10:00am if you want to use the included transportation)
  • The price of the 8 Night 7 day camp is $1790.00. This includes everything you need while you are there except your airfare.
  • The camp is open to Race, D-team 8 years and older) and Freeride team members. The Freeride team with only 37 members this year needs to have 10 participants (Including Parents who want to train with Freeride or race) to have our own park and access to the public park so sign up early and let me know you are interested.
  • For a short Video on our camps click on the following link https://vimeo.com/52890013 and enter the password “wintergreen”. This video is geared toward the ski race side but be aware if we can get a freeride group together this year you could be in the video attachment for the Freeride team for next year. There are extensive terrain parks at Mount Hood with multiple superpipes so rest assured you will not believe the acreage af terrain park at the Mountain.

If you have any questions just shoot me an email cshepard@wintergreenresort.com
