Development Team Update

This weekend will be our annual d-team crazy helmet contest!  Skiers should come to practice with helmets decorated in some fashion.  To give you an idea of what this means, in the past we’ve had rock stars, princesses, even themed helmets such as ‘Luck of the Irish’.  The judging will be held on Sunday at the start of practice to give skiers and coaches an opportunity on Saturday to get creative.

Crazy helmet contest rules:
1. Helmet must still fit properly with chin strap buckled.
2. The crazier the better.

On Sunday there will be a synchronized skiing display.  This will be held on the top of Eagle’s Swoop at 9 am, bring your cowbells and cheer your skiers on!  Coaches will be practicing synchronized skiing formations with groups on Saturday to prepare.

Looking forward to the weekend!

Development Team Update

What a great season we’ve had!  This weekend (3/8-9) is the last scheduled development team practice, which means we will hold our 2nd annual d-team CRAZY HELMET day on Saturday and our final race on Sunday.  Practice will begin at 7:45 and go until 11 on both days.

3/8 Crazy Helmets: If you don’t remember the crazy helmet day from last season or are new to the team this season, your skier(s) can participate by decorating their ski helmet.  The only rules are:
1. Helmet must still fit properly with chin strap buckled.
2. The crazier the better.

3/9 D-Team Race: The final d-team race will be on Sunday and start promptly at 9am along the top of Eagle’s Swoop.  You can park and walk from Lot 2 or ski by to watch, so bring your cowbells and cheer for the team!  We will continue skiing after the race and release practice at 11 as normal. The award ceremony will begin at noon at the lookout.

Please let me know if you have any questions!

Practice will be normal this weekend, 745-11 both days.

Don’t forget that on Saturday we have our CRAZY HELMET contest (decorate helmets, ANYTHING goes-as long as the chin strap buckles and helmet fits properly-so be creative!  d-team coaches will serve as judges) and a bubble gum race; make sure your child arrives at warm-ups prepared!!
