The Race team will travel to Sugar Mountain this weekend for a SARA points SL race on Saturday and a GS race on Sunday.
Special instructions for Race Team!
You will be able to register at Sugar for the races Friday evening 6pm-9pm or Saturday Morning 7am-8am. Registration location is the third floor of the main lodge.
You have an option to do only one GS race on Sunday so that you can get on the road home sooner.
If you choose to just race one race you need to let the folks at registration know that you will only be racing in one race so you will only be charged for one. When the race starts you will not be on the first race start order. You will be on the second race start order and you will run in the second and third runs. That will be your race and you can then leave for home. Everyone should register for and race in both Slalom races on Saturday. Robert Sandy and I will be there to help you understand this process. Please do not waffle on your decision to race one or two GS races on Sunday and please remember to let the folks at registration know what you are up to.
See you there! Anyone looking to contact me at the Sugar races my cell # is 434-989-2541.

We will ski on some very nice surface this weekend with much welcome additional terrain. Both teams will ski this weekend.
Race team please bring Slalom skis on Saturday and GS skis on Sunday. Also remember the following weekend is Sugar Mountain. If you have not registered for the races at Sugar you need to do that now SARA. For those traveling from Northern Virginia to Sugar I am working to make sure the GS races on Sunday will be run in a format that will allow you race one of the GS races so you can get on the road back home earlier.
Both teams will have an opportunity to train this Monday (1/21). We will have a modified GS course (Tighter than normal GS and Looser than normal SL) for both teams. I know that not everyone has Monday off and this practice is really an opportunity for those who will be around that day. As always we will use the coaching resources available. Most coaches have real jobs!
We have a lot of winter left. We have a lot of work to do on both teams. Here’s to a return to winter and to some great conditions for the weekend!

Practice as scheduled this coming weekend (1/12 & 1/13) for both Race and D-teams 7:45am each day
We will ski and train. Lets plan on SL skis for Saturday. We will be setting gates on Sunrise if all goes well. We will also do some video work this weekend as well.
The night temps look like they will fall below freezing the next couple of nights and that should make the surface real nice.
See you Saturday!

Post comments to this entry to let me know what you think about the Race Team Site, this blog set up and other items that we can use.
I plan to change the appearance of this Blog to match the team site.
I am also looking for Parent to be a moderator of the Blog and help us keep it cleaned up.
Thanks
Coach Paul
